The symbolism, durability and showiness were some of the reasons why the ancients Peruvians gave to the metals a protagonist roll between their artistic manifestations.

Thanks to the ability of their artisans, they produced not only everyday tools, but also prestigious ornaments and artifacts. These were used in rituals by a privileged group from the society. Later, they were put in the burials.

The metal collection from the museum has funeral pieces such as masks, pendants and pectorals.
